How Does NCR Work?
Our NCR printing technology uses specially formulated chemical coatings or micro-encapsulated dyes which are precisely applied to the back of each paper sheet. When the top sheet is written by hand or by a print machine, the coating on the back of the top sheet reacts with the underlying sheet to directly replicate what’s being written.
The NCR process makes it easy to instantly create multiple copies without the hassle or mess of traditional carbon paper. It also reduces the carbon footprint for duplicate and triplicate documents.
How Are NCR Documents Created
When creating an NCR document, we identically print the required information, structure, and fields on each sheet. As needed, we can alter the paper and print color for the duplicate sheets to differentiate them from the original top sheet.
The paper and print color of subsequent sheets is often in shades of yellow, orange, blue gray, tan, pink, or green.
What Are the Benefits of NCR Printed Documents?
The NCR printed documents we create aren’t just easier to work with than old-fashioned carbon paper methods. They’re also more cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
The information imprinted on the top sheet of an NCR document is more accurate than dictation or photocopying. There’s virtually no degradation in clarity from the top sheet to the bottom, without any risk of smudging as you get with carbon paper forms.
